The cultured celebrate her
The core of culture, they call.
The evenings, they say,
Bubble with life!
The perfect combination
Of Yellow and blue
Giving rise to green.
The sun above,
The rivers and seas below,
Converging where born
The green hub of the nation!
Rustling flowers for worshiping,
Using washrooms in nearby malls while roaming,
Treating tenants as poor,
And not listening to anyone.
A mandatory mango-mustard after lunch,
A compulsory nap in the afternoon,
Shouting at maids all day,
Claiming to be the best cooks,
At the most a fay or two
Without rice and fish!
Conservative to stick to own norms,
But not opposing to others’,
A culture so aged and diverse
And yet so unified and original!

Subject: Complaining about poor maintenance of the residence.
Dear my creature,
I am writing this letter to you to complain about the poor maintenance of the residence and the troubles which I have to face due to it.
Since many years, ailment has become a routine for me. Perhaps, I may succumb soon. The reason why I have issues only with you and not with other creatures is because they are obeying my precepts and living their lives facilely. A mother always shows solicitude and whatever she advises, it is for the betterment of her children. When you were born, my only desire was to acquaint you with everyone in the universe, but then I thought to let you ascertain about us, and you did it. You found about your mother, all your relatives, the stars, the planets and most prominently your grandfather-the Sun. You were my beloved child. This is the reason why I bestowed you a special reward of sentiments and thought process. Though your progress fascinated me, after a certain period, it didn’t seem like before. Having technological power certainly does not mean that you do everything as per your wish. It is your technological misuse that has left me in a serious condition. I am suffering from a high fever called ‘Global Warming’ due to some greenhouse gases present in my body. I have been coughing ceaselessly since many years because of pollution. It was endurable for me at the early age when you were a juvenile, but then I had to take some undesirable actions to make you evolve into a better personality.
There were many times when I was so cheesed off that nothing could stop me. My numerous negative emotions like Floods, Droughts, Volcano eruptions, Tsunamis and Earthquakes had come out of me. It made you realize your mistake but only for a couple of months. It all started again. Although water produced by me is salty, I offer you fresh water by the process of rain. It isn’t my fault that you deforest the land and then abide water crisis. Your grandfather provides you not only sunlight but different sources of energy that keeps you alive. It isn’t his fault that you defile me unconditionally and slay my Ozone army which dauntlessly protects me from UV rays. Trees create their own food by photosynthesis. They don’t greed for more. Animals and birds have their own meal. They don’t come and eat from your plate, do they? Then why are you intruding in their lives? The land doesn’t belong only to you. I obviously let you have access to adequate resources up-to your requirement, but please don’t harm others’ habitats. They also deserve a life just like you. As I mentioned earlier, you are special to me but don’t force me to show up my wrath again. I can’t watch the decease of my own children. There won’t be any purpose of my existence then. Has anybody ever wanted her mother to pass away? If no, then please stop polluting my breath (air), stop cutting my arms (trees), stop killing your brothers and sisters (animals & birds) and stop being selfish!
As a mother, I request you to take immediate actions against this very sensitive and significant matter. You are grown up now, so you should take some responsibility of maintaining your own house. Otherwise I’ll have to take some stringent action before I perish!
Attachment of my health reports:
The arrival of monsoon draws attention from all over India. The people of Mumbai are well known to the difficulties of the local trains that they are going to face due to rain, but instead of that, they are the ones who eagerly wait for the rainfall. Well, we cannot forget the tears of joy in farmer’s eyes. They hold their breath until the first raindrop falls on their crops. Children keep waiting to enjoy the rainy shower. Raincoats, umbrellas are welcomed in their new home. In short, everybody is fond of the rainy season.
The first rainfall is something magical. The weather it creates before its advent is the intimation to everyone, that they are going to escape from the heat after a long struggle of about three months. It gives a ray of hope to the people who have water crisis in their areas and also to the trees and flora-fauna, who are awaiting to sip the fresh water. The beauty of lightning when it strikes in a dark sky is unbelievable. The curve of the colourful shades of rainbow meets the Earth. The dewdrops are like mirrors shimmering upon the leaves. ‘Petrichor’ – the smell of the wet land after rain, is something that takes us into another world for a couple of minutes.
Although the rainfall designs a wonderful portrayal of itself, it is the one which creates our life miserable. The mud, the irregularity & cancellation of trains, floods, loss of crops, short circuits and many more. Most of the times, it is all due to excessive rain. We know that overdose of anything spoils the work. However, the rainy season has a deep impact on our lives because in cases of floods and other problems, the humanity arrives in us and it is realized that we aren’t here for individual races. We are living to help and make each other’s lives more effective. The major floods in Uttarakhand and Chennai showed some excellent examples of true human duties.
The values taught by monsoon does not limit it merely as just a season. In fact, it has become a foremost part of our lives.
While the number, intensity and destruction of earthquakes are following a hike in last 5-6 years all over the world, it’s becoming very much essential to implement a forecasting system which would warn people about an upcoming earthquake a relevant time span ago. Till date, science and technology invented the forecasting mechanism for storms, cyclones, and almost every kind of climatic occurring but not for an earthquake. But recently, a group of geologists discovered a new concept which may help the prediction of a coming earthquake with almost exact date and time!
According to this concept, if the number of free electrons at the lower layer of ionosphere over a certain region increases abnormally, there’s a chance of earthquake in that region, whose magnitude and intensity would depend on the concentration of free electrons at the lower ionosphere! But how is the free electrons at ionosphere related with the tectonic activity many kilometers under ground? Well, it’s a noble gas called Radon with an atomic number 86, which links these two factors. When a tectonic movement starts deep beneath the earth, due to sheer collisions, Radon gas stored inside earth crust, comes out from the region and moves upwards. At ionosphere, already the gases stay in ionic condition due to extreme temperature, and so when Radon joins them, the electronic concentration rises! Therefore, keeping an eye on the lower ionospheric electron concentration, the people below can be warned about a coming tremor, in this way. Even the time of the shock can be calculated analyzing this excess electron concentration.
It’s difficult to implement such a measurement of electronic concentrations 7 days a week, 365 days a year, but still scientists are attempting it, in order to offer security to human beings living on a turbulent earth.
